How can this place be still legally…
How can this place be still legally open?! Fraud than not interested in anything but taking money! No customer service, no respect for following up problems... Be warned and never use this company!

Insurance bait and switch
I rented a car through RentalCars.com with Europcar in Cancun. I made sure to include insurance in the booking. When I arrived at the rental location, Europcar told me they could not accept the insurance I bought with RentalCars, and made buy another, more expensive insurance. Completely bait and switch. Europcar customer service tells me ins RentalCars.com problem. RentalCars.com customer services does not respond my inquiry after over a month!

Refused help to get my car deposit back after 2 months!
I'm sure my experience is the same as many but the after customer care is shocking. I hired a car in Italy, and to this date, I have not received the refund for my car deposit back.. about 2 months later. The car was returned in perfect condition. I have asked the business (Way Different in Rome,) to assist and when they didn't, I reached out to Rentalcars.com via the app only to be told I had to wait 25 days. I have now waited almost 50 days and no one has continued to assist or try and solve this issues. Terrible service and I won't ever use them again.

What do I need to hire a car?
To book your car, all you need is a credit or debit card. When you pick the car up, you'll need:
Your voucher / eVoucher, to show that you've paid for the car.
The main driver's credit / debit card, with enough available funds for the car's deposit.
Each driver's full, valid driving licence, which they've held for at least 12 months (often 24).
Your passport and any other ID the car hire company needs to see.

Hired a car for 4 days, only to be told that I can pick it ONLY WITH A CREDIT CARD, something I wasn't told before as their website states that I can pick it up with MY DEBIT CARD AS WELL.

I called over 6 times to talk about it with 6 different people in an Indian calling centre. Everytime I was told something different, they even said if I want to cancel I'll get charged EXTRA £37 with NO REFUND.

EVERYTIME I was bringing up THEIR FAQ's THEY WOULD HANG UP ON ME.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!

I’ve been using the service for years and was very satisfied until today - I have booked an overpriced car (x3 usual) as the search parameter was debit card - provided all the information on the license, just to get rejected the car by avis (never had problems before with my ukrainian license in any country) - they said rentalcars must refund. And rentalcars have declined- full amount is taken as a no-show!!! is this a schema??? it is ruining vacation, loosing over 1k eur and extremely unfair!!! never use rental cars or avis - this is horrible service and close to illegal miss advertising!!! I could not think this is possible with a known brands.

Thieves - sold our hire car before we even got there to collect it as flight was delayed by 2 hours.

No other vehicles available, and no refunds for bookings under 3 days. Lost all money.

Useless company
Useless company. We had a car booked but our flight was delayed. We contacted both rental cars and the actual car hire company (Caldera, also useless) to let them know we were running late. They recorded this and and told us no problem, they’d monitor the flight number for arrival details. The flight was cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. When we called to update them again they told us we were a no show and the booking was cancelled. No amount of reasoning with them got us anywhere, despite the assurances they originally give to us.

People on the customer services lines were clearly completely under-trained unskilled workers with absolutely no ability to deal with these situations.

It’s clearly a budget company who will rip you off at the earliest opportunity

Fraud, don't use their services!!!! I have reserved car online in April for July. When the reservation was made, it was written that you don't need pay in advance, you need only credit or debit card for reservation and the payment will be done 24 hours before the pick up of the car. Till this time you can cancel your reservation without any payments. 2 weeks after the reservation they have charged my DEBIT card without my permission in full amount 712 Euro. After my arrival to the airport at 8 o clock in the morning they didn't gave me the car because I don't have Credit Card, only Debit card. Young lady has told me, that I need to pay deposit 920 euro like insurance. I have told her that she can reserve this amount also on my debit card, that's no problem. Her explanation was that when something happens to the car, some accident, they will charge credit card in full amount what's the price of a new car for example 20.000 euro. Before my arrival I have received reservation confirmation in Greek and French language, don't understand why when online reservation was made in German language. Young lady in the office has told me that I need contact directly Rentalcars on the phone number which was on the confirmation and she has gave me also their second phone number. Both numbers are for United Kingdom. On first phone number was only answer machine in French language, second number not exist. After 6 hours od my arrival to the aieport I have sent them E-mail with whole explanation what has happened. Some Sandra has answered at 17:30 afternoon the next day, that they don't pay me nothing back because I didn't contact them till 24 hours after. Only cheaters and skimmers, don't use their services and don't give them your card details in advance!!!!

if your flight is delayed your booking gets canceled
If your flight gets delayed they will automatically cancel your booking, refund you minus 3 days and demand you pay extra to make a new reservation.

Hertz, the company we booked the car with, confirmed the flight number was never passed on (i actually got to see that on their screen), as they would have waited. Instead rentalcars.com automatically canceled the booking and charged extra for a new one.

PS the flight number was passed on to rentalcars.com and when i enquired about that i was told it is my duty to call the rental company and instruct them of my late deparutre

Awful. Do not rent from these guys
Awful slow service. Refused to take our booking as it was on Amex. Then said only way we could have a car was if we paid a €75 a day fee. Airport pickup was glacial we waited an hour and a half. Whilst we were in the queue waiting for an hour one of the staff decided to go off for a cigarette with his friends. Super unhelpful, awful service. Avoid at all costs

Change in schedule, your in trouble.
If everything goes as planned with your trip, it works out. But....

If anything happens: Like: your flight is delayed, you`re late for pickup for some reason (good reasons), have lost your original creditcard, have to change drivers name, just something you expect to be fixed by a simple phonecall. You`re in trouble.

This company wont help you with anything, in fact, they make it twice as expensive, send you round in a frustrating loop and make you regret that you tried to save some bucks with this "company".

Done this mistake twice. Shame on me. Never again. Next time i pay more to a real company, and I advice you to do the same.

Price Differences gouging from these people
It wouldn't let me check out, so thought it was my phone. Went to do it on my laptop and it came back over €500+ more expensive for exactly the same dates and everything, within minutes.

SHOCKING and disgusting company
I am SHOCKED and appalled at how untrustworthy this company is. They must think we are complete numties. I have been dragged around in circles for the past 2 months trying to get a refund for a 700 euro loss. There is absolutely no one who can provide you with answers or help. Absolute time wasters. I will NEVER use this company again and will shout from the rooftops to anyone, RUN THE OTHER WAY.

Poor service - will go direct next time
Disappointing service after my original flight to Stuttgart was rescheduled to be 2 hours later than expected. I just wanted to confirm that I could still pick up the car I had booked. Rentalcars told me to contact Europcar directly, who in turn replied that I had to go through Rentalcars.com. A ridiculous number of emails all replied by different people and none provided any support. In the end I had to call Europcar at Stuttgart to get any support. I won’t use Rentalcars.com again as they take their fee and then run. Disappointing!
